Pre -Monsoon activities have increased and covered many parts of Maharashtra, during the last 24 hours. Although the intensity remained low, these rains have raised hope of widespread weather activity in the region. One such city to see rainfall was Pune that saw some intense rains on Friday.
Presently, a trough is extending from West Madhya Pradesh to South Madhya Maharashtra. Due to this, instability has formed over Madhya Maharashtra and adjoining region. Also, moisture is being fed by the Arabian Sea. Not only, but this temperatures are also already soaring in most parts of Maharashtra. The experts explained that due to instability, the formation of thunderclouds has been seen in many parts of Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, and adjoining areas.
At present, thunderclouds have formed over eastern parts of Pune and the chances of rain are bright at some parts of the area. During this activity, gusty winds with a speed of 30-40 kmph might occur, but the system is likely to move away from the region towards Marathwada. Light rains are expected and might sustain for another one or two hours. Not to forget, during the last few days, thunderclouds formed in and around the city of Pune, but no rains were seen.
The experts foresee that isolated thunderstorm activity might continue for the next 24 hours over a few parts of Pune. Thereafter, dry weather with a rising temperature will be seen. Rains will once again be a sight in Pune around June 13, 2019.
