rain in Maharashtra

The Konkan Coast has been experiencing heavy rain and thundershower activities for the last many days, while, the other region of Maharashtra such as Vidarbha, Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra have observed light to moderate rain and thundershowers in the last couple of days.

At present, a Cyclonic Circulation is over South Gujarat and adjoining the Northeast Arabian Sea off Maharashtra Coast. An offshore Trough is also extending from South Maharashtra Coast up to Kerala Coast.

In the wake of these systems, the North Konkan Coast including Mumbai will experience heavy rain and thundershower activities during the next 36 to 48 hours. Thereafter, as the Cyclonic Circulation will get weakened, the intensity of rain will decrease over Mumbai and its suburbs, while these showers will continue in the southern parts of Konkan and Goa. Places like Dahanu, Thane, Ratnagiri, Harnai, and Sindhudurg will get to see these weather activities.

Meanwhile, Madhya Maharashtra will experience light to moderate rain and thundershowers. Further, the rainfall activities will decrease after 48 hours over the northern parts of Madhya Maharashtra.

In the case of Vidarbha and Marathwada, the moist winds are blowing here, thus these regions will witness cloudy sky conditions with light rain during the next 24 hours. The chances of moderate rains in some parts cannot be ruled out. Further, these conditions would be observed for the next three to four days.

Places like Yavatmal, Chandrapur, Nagpur, Akola, and Amravati may get to see light rains during the coming days. The good news is, these rains would be highly beneficial for all types of crops.
