Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand have been experiencing dry weather conditions for the last many days. Although, a feeble Western Disturbance is moving across North Pakistan and adjoining parts of North Jammu and Kashmir, nothing significant in terms of weather activity has been noticed in the last 24 hours.
According to Skymet Weather, the weak system over the Western Himalayas might give very light rain or snowfall in one or two pockets of East Jammu and Kashmir as well as North Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh during next 18 to 24 hours. No major rain or snowfall activity is likely in the other parts of the northern hills.
Amidst dry weather, the day temperatures may increase slightly while minimums may fall marginally in the valleys of Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, the southern parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh will experience pleasant days and clear skies followed by very cold nights.
Uttarakhand may experience mostly dry weather. The extreme northern parts of the state may experience light rain or snow but the southern areas will experience pleasant weather with mainly clear skies. The nights, however, might be cold. These weather conditions may prevail for another 2-3 days.
Another fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayas on February 18. The system might bring a fresh spell of rain or snow for the hills of North India.
