Northeast India is one such region of India that has been constantly receiving on and off pre-Monsoon rains ever since the month of April began. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Dibrugarh recorded good rains to the tune of 29.5 mm, followed by Itanagar 12.2 mm, Passighat 21.3 mm, Tawang 1 mm, Barpeta 4 mm, Jorhat 9.1 mm, North Lakhimpur 3.7 mm, Tinsukia 26 mm, Tezpur 8.8 mm, Cherrapunji 3.1 mm, Lengpui 9 mm, Agartala 2.5 mm.

Rain intensity has reduced to some extent over the states of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. However, good rains are continuing over Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

Now, we expect rains to reduce further over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura as well as Meghalaya. Nagaland will also witness reduced pre-monsoon activities for at least next two days.

At present a trough is seen extending from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to Chhattisgarh. In fact, moisture feed has also reduced over the northeastern states.

Furthermore, rains are expected to increase from April 26, as a trough is expected to form once again from Bihar to Manipur. Meanwhile, moisture feed will once again lead to enhanced rainfall activity.

Nagaland will also receive few good spells of rain and thundershower activities during that time.

Till then temperatures may rise marginally. But will start reducing once again from April 26 onwards. As the pre-Monsoon activities will once again pick up pace.
