Rajasthan and hot summer weather have always been correlated. The desert state was under the influence of dry and warm weather conditions from almost a month. Despite a few light rainy traces during the initial days of June that did not prove to be beneficial for the rising mercury levels, the maximums mostly stayed near or above the 40-degree mark.

Though a few spells did occur over North Rajasthan wherein the districts like Alwar and Pilani observed some light traces of rains. However, as far as, West Rajasthan is concerned, the weather mainly remained dry. Despite this, as on June 19, West Rajasthan is rain surplus by 38% whereas, East Rajasthan is rain deficient by 8%.

As of now, Skymet Weather reiterates that most parts of Rajasthan barring the western regions are likely to receive rains within the next 48 hours. A trough is extending from Northwest Rajasthan to East India. And in the wake of this, parts of North, East and Southeast Rajasthan, mainly the districts like Hanumangarh, Sri Ganganagar, Bikaner, Sikar, and Churu can anticipate on and off scattered showers within the next 48 hours.

In fact, the capital city Jaipur along with Kota, Bundi, and Chittorgarh may also get to see some good spells in the next 2-3 days. However, districts in West Rajasthan like Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Sirohi, and Barmer may not be lucky enough to see rains as of now.

Moreover, the onset of Southwest Monsoon is also likely over the extreme western part of the state by July first week.
