During the last 24 hours, isolated rains were observed in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. These areas are presently experiencing southwesterly winds and thus temperatures here are above normal with high humidity levels. In fact, the feel like temperature is significantly high during peak hours.
According to Skymet Weather, these isolated rains over Andhra Pradesh were a result of a Cyclonic Circulation, that was over South Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal. Plus, a Trough was extending from this system up to North Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
However, these systems have now started to move away from Andhra Pradesh. Moreover, no significant system is expected to form close to the state for next two to three days.
Thus, in the absence of significant weather systems, weather over entire Andhra Pradesh will remain dry. However, chances of isolated thundershower activities over extreme North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and extreme south of Rayalaseema cannot be ruled out.
Places such as Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Kurnool and Anantapur will witness thundershower activities along with strong winds during next 24 hours. Thunderclouds may develop along the coast over some places, during the afternoon hours. The sky conditions would be mostly cloudy to partly cloudy. Moreover, these areas have go through high humidity during day and night hours. The morning and day temperatures would also remain marginally high.
Although we expect Monsoon to step in Kerala anytime now, its eastern arm will remain weak. Hence, delay in Monsoon arrival is likely over Andhra Pradesh.
