Southwest Monsoon withdrawal nears with Mumbai to see a rise in day temp, moderate showers in Pune

The northerly northeasterly winds have already covered most places of Central India and are likely to prevail further mainly over Maharashtra including Vidarbha and Marathwada. The chances of withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon over the area may take place in the coming few days.

At present, a Trough is moving close to South of Madhya Maharashtra and adjoining Marathwada up to 3.1 km. A Cyclonic Circulation is seen over the South-central Arabian Sea and adjoining coast. Due to this in the last 24 hours, few parts of Madhya Maharashtra have received light to moderate rains wherein Aurangabad recorded 8 mm of rain, Ahmednagar 12 mm, Mahabaleshwar 8 mm, and isolated light were a sight over Sangli, Pune, and adjoining areas.

The rainfall activity along Madhya Maharashtra is expected to continue during the next 24 to 48 hours. Mainly Kolhapur, Solapur, Satara, Sangli, Pune are the areas where light to moderate spells are expected. Light rain is also possible along the Konkan including Mumbai, and Ratnagiri. Isolated light rain may impact the southern parts of Marathwada which are likely to decrease after 24 hours.

As per our experts, Mumbai city is likely to witness dry weather after 48 hours and temperature may touch 36 degrees.
