Upcoming Cyclone Vayu to trigger rain in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh

June 10, 2019 6:13 PM |

Rain in Delhi

Northwest India is all set to see a series of weather systems affecting the region as a fresh Western Disturbance is approaching the hills of North India, while a Cyclone is brewing in the Arabian Sea. The system is currently a Depression and will intensify into a Deep Depression by evening hours. Moreover, the system can become a Cyclonic Storm by tomorrow or so and will be called Cyclone Vayu.

Humid winds from Arabian Sea will increase moisture over the Northwestern Plains. Moreover, the combination of these winds with the effect of induced Cyclonic Circulation over Rajasthan as well as Western Disturbance along with a Trough extending from West Rajasthan to Bangladesh will be responsible in enhancing rains over Northwest India.

Thus, the influx of humidity, along with the high temperatures will create some kind of an instability in the atmosphere. Thus, dust storm and rain and thundershowers will be seen in Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, NCR, Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh starting tomorrow.

On and off Pre Monsoon rains will continue until June 13. Thereafter, around June 15 and 16 also, some Pre Monsoon activity is expected. These Pre Monsoon showers will help in reducing the temperatures which have been soaring high.

Presently, isolated pockets in Delhi and adjoining areas of Northwest India are reeling under intense heat wave conditions. These rains will result in the abatement of heat wave from these areas. Rajasthan, which is also reeling under intense heat wave conditions will see a relief in the form of these rains.
