The low-pressure area over southwest Uttar Pradesh has moved to central Uttar Pradesh. The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea level. The system is likely to move east-northeastwards during the next 24 hours.
The monsoon trough passes through Bikaner, the centre of the low-pressure area over central Uttar Pradesh, Daltonganj, Ranchi and Bankura, before extending eastwards towards Tripura. It extends up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.
A trough extends from south Gujarat to north Bangladesh across the cyclonic circulation over central Uttar Pradesh, north Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and West Bengal between 3.1 and 5.8 km above mean sea level.
A Western Disturbance persists as a cyclonic circulation over Kashmir and adjoining areas at 5.8 km above mean sea level.
Another Western Disturbance is present as a trough in the middle and upper tropospheric westerlies, with its axis near 70°E to the north of 28°N at 7.6 km above mean sea level.

During the last 24 hours, widespread light to moderate rain occurred over Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, west Madhya Pradesh, and Konkan and Goa.
Light to moderate rain occurred at many places over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha, Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, north interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

The highest maximum temperature over the country was 39.9°C at Vellore in Tamil Nadu. The lowest minimum temperature over the plains was 15.6°C at Yavatmal in Maharashtra.
Maximum temperatures were markedly above normal at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu. Hotter-than-normal conditions also prevailed over parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Rainfall will decrease significantly over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh. However, isolated light rain or thunderstorms remain possible during the next 24 hours.
Widespread light to moderate rain may continue over Konkan and Goa. Isolated rain is possible over Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada.
