Prices of small cardamom has fallen below Rs. 1,000 per kg for the first time this season. Currently prices are ruling at Rs. 960 per kg in the local market. A 50% reduction in output in this season has pushed the cardamom prices to touch a five year high of Rs. 1,400 per kg early this year.
