After Storm Niko, another Winter Storm called Orson is expected to develop into a strong low pressure area by Sunday night into Monday.
This storm is expected to bring very heavy snow at least 2 to4 inches with powerful gusty winds throughout New England.
As the system will strengthen, the wind speed will pick up pace substantially. Wind gusts are expected to top 60 mph, particularly along the New England Coast.
A mix of freezing rain, snow and sleet is anticipated to begin on late Saturday night, as the system will begin to move into the Northeast United States and form in the Great Lakes. Thundersnow and blizzard conditions can be expected.
By Sunday, snow is likely from the Great Lakes into upstate New York and most areas of New England.
In wake of this, winter storm watches have been issued throughout the northeastern parts of US, with eastern parts of Maine including the Bangor area.
The heavy snowfall could cause hazardous travel conditions, delays and cancellations of flights are likely. Also will make road travel dangerous.
The combined effect of heavy snowfall and strong winds will be more than enough to bring down tree limbs and power lines.
Snow and wind is expected to linger in parts of Maine and Massachusetts before ending on Monday night.
The snow with Orson will likely be heavier and wetter for many areas compared to the snow that fell with Niko.
