Environment Canada has continued its heat warning for Ottawa. The region has been reported to observe the hottest day of the year. A heat warning was first issued on Monday which continued until yesterday as the temperature reached as high as 33 degree Celsius.
On July 13, the temperatures had shot up to whopping 20 degrees even before 6 am and during that time, the humidity levels stood even above 80 percent. A high UV index of 9 was also projected by Environment Canada looking at the weather conditions.
However, with extremely hot and humid conditions, there is a thirty percent chance of showers and also the possibility of thunderstorms.
During the next 24 hours, conditions will remain humid, however, the possibility of occasional showers cannot be ruled out. During the morning hours, southwesterly winds will also prevail over the region gusting up to 40 kmph.
By Friday, humidity levels are likely to drop to quite an extent. Also, the temperature may even drop to a good 27 degrees. Come Saturday, and weather conditions are likely to improve even further.
So much so that the maximum is likely to drop down at 22 degree Celsius which is 10 degrees less than the maximum recorded yesterday.
