Many parts of Rajasthan are likely to experience inclement weather conditions today and tomorrow. As warned earlier, the eastern and central parts of the state will be more vulnerable. Extreme western posts, near the border and the southwest corner of the state, may escape the monsoon fury and will possibly receive light rainfall.

A depression is marked over Madhya Pradesh, centered near Gwalior, this morning. The system will move westward across central and eastern parts of Rajasthan in the next 24 hours. Subsequently, the scale and spread of the system's activity will reduce. The area of intense weather will shrink substantially by late Saturday and Sunday. Rain and thundershowers will be accompanied by strong winds, lightning strikes, and spells of heavy rainfall.

The central and eastern parts of the state will face the monsoon fury and have the risk of flooding and inundation. Isolated places witnessed heavy showers yesterday as well. Ajmer recorded 79mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours, leading to knee-deep water on the roads and streets. The vulnerable locations will now include: Alwar, Dholpur, Sawai Madhopur, Dausa, Tonk, Kota, Bundi, Jaipur, Ajmer, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Nagaur, Pali, Bhilwara, and Udaipur. On the western side, the rains will extend to Jodhpur, Bikaner, and Beawar. The area of influence will decrease tomorrow and the day after. The susceptible locations will be along the stretch between Jodhpur and Bikaner and include Nagaur, Didwana, Sikar, and Churu.

There will be a danger of localized flooding and inundation, disrupting connectivity. Rail, road, and air traffic will be impacted. The water bodies, including dams and reservoirs, may fill to the brim, with chances of overflowing. The release of additional water beyond capacity utilization may pose a danger to the downstream riparian pockets. Exercise utmost caution, as the water bodies will continue responding even after the weather conditions improve.
