To start with the major event in the weather, the thick fog layer that had maintained its grip right from Punjab to Northeast India is now likely to thin down over the entire region after 24 hours.
Let’s begin the weather of North, a Western Disturbance is persisting over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir. With this, light rain and snow is expected over the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir. Clouding will be seen over rest of the state along with Himachal Pradesh.
Meanwhile, the plains of North India including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh would witness moderate to dense fog. Weather will remain dry over the entire portion.

Moving to Central India, an anti-cyclonic circulation is seen over East Rajasthan. Thus, days are anticipated to be mainly comfortable with bright sunshine and cold nights over the complete region. In fact, shallow to moderate fog is expected to occur over Madhya Pradesh.
Talking about East and Northeast India, very dense fog would be seen along the foothills of Himalayas including North Uttar Pradesh, North Bihar and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal during the next 24 hours.
A cyclonic circulation is seen over North Bangladesh and adjoining Assam. With this, moderate fog at many places with dense fog in pockets is expected over Northeast India. Otherwise, both east and northeast regions of the country region will continue with dry weather.
Lastly in South, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over southwest Bay of Bengal. Also, a trough is extending from this system up to South Tamil Nadu. Hence, light to moderate rains will occur over Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Southern tip of Tamil Nadu. The weather over Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will remain dry. Also, shallow fog is expected along the east coast of the country including Coastal Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh and North Coastal Tamil Nadu.
