Weather Forecast for July 13: Monsoon rain continues in MP, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra

July 12, 2016 3:14 PM |

At present, Southwest Monsoon seems to be vigorous over Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan and Gujarat. Multiple Monsoon systems have been bringing heavy rainfall over these areas. In Maharashtra, rainfall will now follow a reducing trend. The cyclonic circulation over Southwest Madhya Pradesh and its neighbouring areas of South Rajasthan and North Gujarat persists. The low pressure area over Northeast Madhya Pradesh has merged with the cyclonic circulation over Odisha. Tomorrow the weather system will be seen over Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas of North Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh. Rain will continue in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat for now and gradually the rain belt will shift upwards.

Up in North India, there is trough extending from Punjab up to the Bay of Bengal, across Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Odisha. By the 14th of July these two troughs will merge and shift towards the foothills of the Himalayas. Indo-Gangetic plains including Punjab, Haryana and Delhi will start receiving heavy Monsoon rains from Wednesday night onwards. East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Northeast India should watch out for heavy rains.

The off shore trough remains active along the West Coast. Heavy rains likely in Coastal Karnataka and Kerala. Konkan & Goa will receive less rainfall. One or two short spells of moderate showers cannot be ruled out in Mumbai.
