While heatwave has been affecting several parts of the country for the past few days, the state of Gujarat continues to observe comfortable weather conditions.
Both days and nights have remained comfortable in Gujarat for the past two to three days.
Usually, during this period, evenings are comfortable in Gujarat. However, afternoons remain hot and dry resulting in uneasiness throughout the day.
Maximums remain above the normal range. This time, even afternoons have not been as hot in the state.
These conditions can be attributed to the back to back Western Disturbances that have been affecting the weather in Gujarat. While it should be noted that the system has not been giving any rain over the state.
The weather of Gujarat is heavily affected by the wind pattern. Due to back to back western Disturbances, hot and dry north-westerly winds blowing from Pakistan have not been able to reach the state. Thus, temperatures have remained under check.
In fact, the region has been recording below normal temperatures. For instance, Ahmedabad recorded its maximum as 37.3°C which is one degree below normal. Similarly, the maximum at Naliya settled at 32.6°C, which is two degrees below the normal levels. Other places including Rajkot and Baroda have also been witnessing below normal temperatures.
These conditions will remain the same for the next few days as a fresh Western Disturbance is approaching the Western Himalayas. However, no rainfall activity will be observed over Gujarat during this time.
