In the last 24 hours from 8.30 m on Ayanagar Observatory recorded heavy rains to the tune of 36.4 mm, Faridabad 35 mm, Ridge Observatory 18.8 mm, Lodhi Road 16 mm, Pitampura 13 mm, Safdarjung 6.6 mm and Palam 4.7 mm.

As per Skymet Weather, the reason for these rains can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which was persisting over Northeast Rajasthan. This circulation led to the development of  thunderclouds, giving rains and thundershowers activities over the region. Due to the hefty showers, several places got water logged and heavy traffic jams created chaos across the national capital.

Further, weathermen are predicting more spell of rains to visit Delhi on Thursday as well.  With the cyclonic circulation persisting over Northeast Rajasthan and adjoining Madhya Pradesh, one to two spells of rain is likely today as well. The day temperatures will remain in the comfortable range for the next 24 hours.

Thereafter, the weather will once go dry and weather will become warm again. Temperatures are also expected to rise and may reach to 36°C to 37°C again.
