Right now, the axis of Monsoon trough has shifted north towards foothills of Himalayas, running from Punjab up to Assam across Uttar Pradesh.
In consequence to this, rains have reduced across the northwestern plains inclusive of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh. Yet, scattered rains have been reported over parts of Punjab, Haryana along with isolated places of Uttar Pradesh.

At the moment, westerly winds are blowing over Haryana, North Rajasthan, Delhi-NCR and West Uttar Pradesh. In wake of this, we are anticipating that dry weather conditions would continue over the plains of North India for at least the next 2 to 3 days.
On this note, the maximum temperatures would also ascend over many parts of northwestern plains and is prospective to settle in higher 30s. Still, isolated thunderstorm or short thundershowers can occur, but that would not be of any help to the people of the mentioned region.
Skymet Weather anticipates rainfall to reappear over the northwestern plains around July 10 on account of a fresh Monsoon surge. From then on, we would see gradual surge in rainfall that would lead to drop in temperatures once again. At this time, pleasant and easy weather will prevail.
