Goa, Kolhapur, Sangli, Vengurla to get isolated rains in next 24 hours

The northern districts of Konkan region have been reeling under dry and warm weather conditions since last many days. Whereas southern coastal stations of Maharashtra have been witnessing on and off scattered light rain and thundershowers. Meanwhile the Tourist Paradise, Goa has been observing isolated thundershowers.

Within a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Kolhapur recorded light rainfall of 8 mm while other few parts of coastal Maharashtra recorded merely traces of rain.

These weather conditions can be attributed to a trough is seen extending from the southeast Arabian Sea up to south central of Arabian Sea.

Due to this prevailing weather system, isolated rain and thundershowers are expected in south coastal stations of Maharashtra, a few parts of the extreme south of Madhya Maharashtra and Goa during the next 24 hours.

Districts such as Sangli, Satara, Kolhapur, Vengurla and Ratnagiri will witness scattered rains with cloudy sky conditions to prevail during the similar time frame.

As dry winds are prevailing over the state, temperatures are further likely to rise significantly in the next few days. Likewise, many parts of Vidarbha and Marathwada region will also continue to reel under dry and warm weather conditions.

Moreover, the city of Mumbai is anticipated to remain hot and dry during the daytime. On the other hand, Pune city will remain dry but comfortable during the afternoon hours. While nights are expected to remain pleasant and comfortable in both the cities for the next few days.
