Delhi weather has begun to trouble the residents. Rain gods are nowhere to be seen and the scorching summer heat has been wreaking havoc over the national capital. During the last four days, temperatures have been reaching above the 40-degree mark.
In fact, the last two days have seen maximums settling above the 42 degree mark. While the Palam observatory recorded maximum at 42.4 degree a day before, yesterday it settled at 42.3 degrees. These temperatures are at least five degree above the normal levels resulting in heatwave conditions.
The reason for these weather conditions is attributed to the hot and dry winds blowing over Northwest India. During most parts of the day, hot winds from southwest direction are blowing over Delhi-NCR.
These winds are coming from West Rajasthan and Sindh province of Pakistan where temperatures are already sky high in the range of 45 and 46 degrees. Thus, due to these winds temperatures are on the rise over delhi.
Sky is clear over the city and due to very low moisture content, weather activities including dust storm and thunderstorm are also not occurring over the region. Thus, these weather conditions are expected to continue over Delhi and the NCR region for at least the next few days.
