September 27, 2015 3:19 PM |

Rain in South IndiaMainly light to moderate rainfall is being witnessed in parts of Peninsular India. Parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and South Karnataka have been receiving scattered rains. But now, a system is seen developing close to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Also, a circulation can be spotted 10° N, 93° E.

The system is likely to intensify gradually and may move in a westerly direction towards West Central Bay. In due time, another system which is over Lakshadweep (and adjoining areas) in the middle level, is likely to deepen further to lower level. This system is expected to give good rainfall over Peninsular India.

Andaman & Nicobar Islands are also likely to receive light to moderate rain with heavy spells during next two to four days. As the system progresses and reaches closer to the coast of Andhra Pradesh, the rain belt is likely to stretch all along the East Coast.

Lakshadweep will continue to receive mainly moderate rains, with heavy showers at a couple of places, during next three to four days.

Simply speaking, rain will continue to maintain a relatively strong presence in parts of Peninsular India. We can expect good rains over places in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and South Karnataka during next few days.
