During the last 24 hours, minimum temperatures in West Madhya Pradesh dropped to 4 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, minimums in eastern parts as well as Chhattisgarh rose by two to three degrees Celsius.
However, today, day temperatures have dropped over most parts of Madhya Pradesh along with the state of Chhattisgarh. Now, rains are all set to commence over East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and some parts of Central Madhya Pradesh from January 24 and may continue until January 27. Intensity of rainfall is expected to be more on January 25 and 26.
Rains will begin from Bhopal, which is the eastern region. The reason for these upcoming rainfall activities can be attributed to the formation of a north south trough right from North Chhattisgarh up to Telangana. A confluence zone will also develop over that area, resulting in the enhancement of these rains.
Cities of Bhopal, Jabalpur, Sagar, Damoh, Satna, Siddhi, Ambikapur, Bilaspur, Raipur, Jagdalpur will be the ones witnessing rainfall.
Temperatures will see a fall, particularly the maximums, over parts of East Madhya Pradesh as well as Chhattisgarh between January 25 and 27. However, we do not expect much change in temperatures over West Madhya Pradesh.
However, minimums will gradually fall due to the inflow of northerly winds over that area, particularly, Ratlam, Ujjain, Guna, Gwalior etc.
