Temperatures to drop in Gujarat; mercury to soar in Rajasthan

February 27, 2017 1:44 PM |

Heat in Rajasthan

Most parts of Gujarat and Rajasthan are reeling under dry and hot weather conditions. Both the day and night temperatures are settling few notches above the normal range.

The reason for both the states witnessing above normal temperatures can be associated with the dry northerly northwesterly winds which are prevailing over the area. In most parts of Gujarat, maximums have climbed 2 to 3 degrees above the normal levels.

In fact, in last 24 hours, districts like Ahmedabad, Amreli, Vadodara, Bhavnagar, Bhuj, Rajkot and Surat have been witnessing mercury above the 35°C mark. Whereas, districts like Bhuj and Kandla have seen a rise in maximums by 5 degrees or more.

During the Similar time frame, districts like Churu, Ajmer, and Jaisalmer in Rajasthan have seen the maximum temperatures settling in the upper 30s.

However, as per Skymet Weather, now, an induced Cyclonic Circulation has formed over South Pakistan and adjoining Central Pakistan. On account of this weather system, the wind pattern is once again likely to change. The dry northerly and northwesterly winds are expected to transform to moist and comparatively cooler southwesterly-southerly.

This change of wind pattern will result in the temperatures to drop in Gujarat in next 24 hours. Mainly sunny sky along with a few clouds are likely to be observed in the state.

While in Rajasthan, particularly, in the western part of the state, hot day conditions are expected to continue for another 2 hours before dropping the temperatures. Moreover, North Rajasthan may even brace for a partly cloudy sky.
