The northwestern plains of India did record some spells during the beginning of the month of September. Thereafter, the weather went almost dry with isolated rains making appearances.
Before the withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon, weathermen do expect some rains to drench the region that includes Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan.

In fact, most parts of the aforementioned areas witnessed light to moderate intensity showers during the last 24 hours.
In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Wednesday, Ayanagar recorded good 36 mm of rains, followed by Faridabad 25 mm, Karnal 23 mm, Ridge 19 mm, Narnaul 18 mm, Hisar 16 mm, Chandigarh 11 mm, Safdarjung 7 mm, Gurgaon 7 mm, Palam 5 mm, Sirsa 4 mm and Ludhiana 3 mm of rainfall.
These rains can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which is over Northeast Rajasthan. Along with this, the axis of Monsoon trough has also shifted southward over the northwestern plains.

At present, northwesterly winds are gusting over northwestern plains of India, with which humidity levels have decreased. Morning and nights are likely to stay comfortable. Now the weather is likely to clear up, but partly cloudy sky with cloudy at times may persist with isolated rain activity.
We expect an anti-cyclone to develop over Rajasthan due to which withdrawal of Monsoon will commence from the northwestern plains very soon. At present, the cumulative rainfall for Northwest India from June 1 to September 6 is deficient by 4 percent.
