Weather Forecast for July 23: Good Monsoon rains in MP, Vidarbha, Delhi, UP, Bihar

July 22, 2016 6:53 PM |

There are presently two Monsoon systems which are driving the rain activity over several parts of the country.

One cyclonic circulation can be seen over central parts of Madhya Pradesh, while another fresh circulation is also seen in its close proximity over Chhattisgarh and adjoining Andhra Pradesh.

With this, fairly widespread moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers are likely over Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Vidarbha and even over parts of North Interior Karnataka on Saturday.

Parts of Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas of Southwest Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan will also see good Monsoon showers during the next 48 hours.

A trough is also extending from this system across Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Accordingly, we can expect scattered Monsoon rain across the well-marked trough line including Chennai.

These systems will also active the off-shore trough running along the West Coast, which will further enhance the rains over Konkan & Goa and Coastal Karnataka.

They have also pulled down the western arm of the Monsoon trough, which is now running across the northern plains. In wake of this, we are likely to see light to moderate rain over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR and North Rajasthan.

Meanwhile, eastern arm of the trough will continue to run through foothills of Himalayas up to Northeast India. With this, the situation remains grim as intense Monsoon rains will continue over foothills of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sikkim and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya will also witness heavy to extremely heavy rains on Saturday.

Gujarat is also likely to see scattered light to moderate showers during the next 48 hours.
