Heatwave in Delhi to subside as rains to visit this weekend

Delhi Heatwave - 1

Unrelenting heatwave has gripped most parts of West, Central and North India. Most parts of Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and Delhi are reeling under heatwave conditions. Summer has indeed went rogue as the mercury is above 40 degrees in almost all these areas and with such high levels of mercury, people would do almost anything to get a whip of cool breeze, and that is exactly what Mother Nature has in mind.

But, this cool whip of weather will take its time to reach us. At present, high levels of mercury is likely to continue over the region. Southwesterly wind from already searing Rajasthan is blowing over Delhi and NCR. This has resulted in high temperature level which has definitely made the weather unpleasant.

During pre-Monsoon season, such high level of mercury is not new but prolonged period of dry and hot weather is not welcomed. Thanks to the upcoming Western Disturbance over the hills of North India, weather may see a very much likely and needed change.

This Western Disturbance is likely to hit the hills by April 21, and the effect to this weather system will reach to plains of north India too. This is good news for the people of Delhi and NCR as rainfall is likely to make a visit and relieve the residents from the deadly heatwave.

Scattered rainfall is expected to start off by April 22-23 over Punjab and Haryana, and good rainfall can be expected over Delhi NCR by April 24-25.

But Delhiites may get to see a trailer of the upcoming rainy spell on April 21 in the form of a thunderstorm. But sadly, this will not last long and only one or two places in Delhi will see such activity.
