Nights were also comparatively warmer. The conditions at the beginning of March were no different.

The first three days of the month recorded maximums above the 30-degree mark, resulting in miserably hot conditions.

However, rain gods seem to be in a good mood today. After Mumbai was lashed by good showers, Delhi is all set to receive some rain as well.

The Western Disturbance, which is currently over North Pakistan and is likely to affect the hills of North India soon. The same system will also result in good rains over Delhi as well. Rain and thundershowers are likely to begin tonight itself.

Delhiites will observe a rainy Saturday. A couple of showers in the national capital tomorrow will bring down the day temperatures by a notch. Cloudy sky conditions will be seen over the city almost throughout the day.

Usually, March begins on a less warm note each year. Day temperatures during the beginning of the March settle at around 27°C, while the temperature by the end of the month rises to around 34°C. The average temperature for the city during March settles at 29.7°C.

As per the data available at Skymet, the first three days of March have been the hottest in the past eight years. While the average temperature from March 1 to March 3 this year was 32.5°C, Delhi was this hot only in 2008 when the average temperature was recorded at 33.3°C.

Rain in Delhi

This upcoming spell of rain will bring in some relief from the ongoing hot and humid weather conditions. However, the relief will be short-lived as temperatures will rise once again after the intensity of rain reduces.

Another spell of rain can be expected on March 10, which will again bring in some relief for a short period.
