Have a look at the trains and flights canceled or delayed in the wake of heavy Mumbai rains

Heavy Mumbai rains have wreaked havoc for the fifth consecutive day, thus resulting in road, rail and air  traffic disruption. In the wake of heavy downpour, the government of Maharashtra has declared Tuesday as a public holiday in Mumbai.

According to Mumbai airport authorities, it could take another 48 hours in order to re-open the main runway. It has been kept closed since the last night following a SpiceJet flight, that overshot while landing due to heavy rains. Moreover, a 150-meter-ramp is being prepared in order to move the plane, a Boeing 737-800, stuck at the end of the runway.

Several airlines have issued a travel advisory to check the flight status:

 

Extremely heavy Mumbai rains have affected the suburban train services as well. Mumbai-Pune intercity trains have been cancelled, following a derailment between Karjat and Lonavala at the ghat section. The cancelled trains include the following names- Indrayani Express, the Deccan Express, the Intercity Express, the Pragati Express, the Deccan Queen Express, and the Koyna Express.
